In the past weeks on the blog, we’ve been exploring a few different areas. We’ve looked at launching a business, and defining what success looks like for you; we’ve emphasised the importance of self-care and trusting your intuition; and we’ve even looked at love and the idea of finding your soul mate.
Each of these areas, though they bring their own distinct challenges, has a lot in common in terms of how you can best achieve your goals. Whatever the area of your life that we’re talking about, achieving your goals first and foremost requires one single thing.
And that #1 thing you need? It’s clarity.
Once you know what you want, the rest is a piece of cake!

Discover some of the common signs it's time to re-think your career
Do you fantasise about a world in which you love your job to the point that you jump out of bed in the morning with excitement at the thought of what you’re going to do today? Do you long for more freedom and flexibility in your daily schedule? Do you wish that you were creating something really meaningful, that could make a difference to something that matters?
Once you have a clear vision for what you’re trying to achieve, you’ll feel motivated to achieve it.
Once you know what you’re trying to achieve, you can start planning your strategies to get it done.
And, if you’re open to that ‘woo-woo’ kind of thing, once you’ve set your intention then the universe will align to make it happen.
Again, this is true whether we’re talking about achieving goals in your romantic life, in your family relationships, in your fitness or in your career.
So what’s the problem?
Well, as it turns out, getting that clarity can be incredibly difficult.
A lot of us have been doing the same thing for ten or more years. We’re surrounded by colleagues and friends who do similar jobs and lead similar lives. And we’re pretty settled into our nice and snuggly comfort zones, sticking to our usual routine and going about our business in the only way we know how.
And most of us are multifaceted people. We have a lot of different passions and interests. Not only that but we’re incredibly capable and we can do a lot of different things. So how do we choose just one?!
It’s precisely because we can succeed at pretty much whatever we put our minds to that it’s so incredibly important to put our minds to something meaningful.
So, not to put more pressure on you, but getting this clarity is a really important step!
As a result, I’d encourage you to be patient – to allow yourself to explore and discover and observe – before pushing yourself to make any kind of decision. Dream big before you get realistic, open up to a world of possibilities before narrowing down to viable options.
And because I see this as the most important step, and at the same time the biggest hurdle, for people when they want to make a big career shift, I’m preparing a challenge for you. This will be incredibly comprehensive and full of ideas and tools to help you get some clarity, once and for all. More on this in the coming weeks!
