We are even closer than we were last week to Christmas and I don’t want to disturb you too much.
Maybe you’re listening to me now just as a quick little break from all the Christmas mayhem, or you’re catching up on episodes after Christmas and that’s fine too. Hopefully you’ve had a lovely time with your family. If so. But the essence of this message, and it’ll be a short one, I promise, is to say thank you. We don’t have Thanksgiving, unfortunately, in England. I had the ambition to do kind of our own version of it. And maybe when you listen to this, I will have done it because I am recording these episodes in advance. But yes, thank you.
Thank you to you for listening to the podcast. Thanks for trusting me with your incredibly valuable and limited time. So whether you’re a new listener or a loyal long time one, I so appreciate you. Thank you so much for showing up and doing the work, even if we haven’t had a conversation. If you’re listening, if you’re taking action, then thank you so much. Thank you to those of you who I have worked with and to those who I may yet work with in the future. So a massive thank you to all of you. I’ve been doing this podcast for six years now, which is something to celebrate in itself, of course.
Sometimes and very rarely, to be honest, I think, oh, should I really be doing this? But then now and then I hear someone who said, I’ve been listening for a long time or this episode really had an impact and I enjoy it. It’s a great way for me to reflect and organise my thinking, to share my approach with you, to give you hopefully some insights and practical things that can help you as well and to, yeah, to structure my thinking and content, really. So for now at least, I’m happy to continue and I hope you will stay with me for the journey. And as I mentioned the past few weeks, I suppose I have refocused this podcast really on helping you build a business that works for you. So my core message, I suppose of getting out of the 9 to 5 and really developing that business model that works around your life rather than the other way around, with really nice ish marketing and sales strategies that feel good to you and keeping things really simple and above all just, you know, being able to do the things you want to do. Isn’t that what life is all about? So not apologising for your goals, whether they make sense to others or not, for prioritising what matters to you without having to justify your choices and to not having to make that trade off that we’re often told we need to make between success in the traditional sense of financial security and freedom and all that jazz on the one hand with doing fulfilling work, having the flexibility to spend time with your loved ones on the other. Massive thank you is the main message I want to get across to you. And of course, if you are listening to this message before or during the Christmas break, then do take time off.
And not just because you need rest, because yes, of course you do, and it’s Christmas and family first always, and so on. All the things you know and I’m sure agree with me on, but also because even if you’re really keen and ambitious to get things moving and so on, you will be in a much better position after resting over the Christmas period. And sometimes, almost always, even the biggest insights come when you put work to one side. And you know, whether it’s a short walk or a weekend away or a longer holiday period, you often come back, yes, having forgotten a few things. So do make sure you take note of the things you don’t want to forget. But the good thing is you’ve also forgotten a few of the negative bits. You’ve got a fresh perspective, a new optimism and energy that always, inevitably comes with that New Year time period. And that will really help you to start off on sort of a really positive foot, even if things have been challenging, as I’m sure they have for all of us at some point during the year.
And the world has gone through some strange things, cost of living on top of everything else we have to deal with as individuals. So do make sure you take that time off, reconnect with what matters most to you, whatever that looks like for you, and your business will be waiting for you, as will I in 2025. All the stronger for the break that you will have taken. I will have one more message for you before 2025, because I’ll have a little mini micro episode for you next week to round off the year just before we go. And yeah, I’ll see you then. And then I’ll see you on the other side. But for now, I will see you next week as we wrap up the year 2024 once and for all. I’ll see you then.
