Business accelerator masterclass

Transcript:

Okay. So we were running the 9-to-5 Escape Plan a few weeks ago. This is a workshop we’ve been running in different formats over the last few years, several times a year to help experienced corporate professionals to design their own transition out of the nine to five into building and growing and living a business and a life outside of that conventional nine to five. There are so many people, I don’t need to tell you this now, especially if you’ve been a listener for a while and if you’re one of these people who have been reassessing what’s important in their lives and choosing to quit their jobs and to ultimately try to and work towards creating that profitable fulfilling business that’s going to give you that lifestyle you’re after, the freedom, the flexibility, the fulfilment we always talk about. So this is a workshop, I’ve run it many times.

It’s such a fun week and we get such great results, always fantastic feedback. However, and this is what I’m coming to, I know that you guys are all at different parts of your journey, different stages, and a lot of my community partner because you’ve been following along for a while and you’ve been growing as I’ve been growing are further along. So you have quit your job. You have already gone all in your business, and now it’s a matter of achieving the goals you want to achieve. It’s getting that freedom and flexibility that you dreamed of when you started. It is actually having that sustainability, the longterm viability of your business and not just that, “Hey, I’ve quit my job.” That’s great, but now the real work begins and there’s lots of doubts coming in and you have success one day and then you’re not getting the clients as you were before and so on.

So I’m speaking to you guys now, whether you’re a service-based business owner, freelancer, online entrepreneur, however you identify yourself. Maybe you’re a coach or a consultant who really wants to become the go-to expert in your field. Maybe you want to have more speaking engagements, opportunities. Maybe you want to publish a book. Maybe you want to be seen as a thought leader and authority in your field, or perhaps you’re a side hustler.

So you’ve launched your business alongside your work and now you want to get it to the point where you can go all in and take that business full-time.

Perhaps you’re a freelancer working successfully with a client, but you would like to charge more for your services. You want to find a way to better leverage your time. Maybe you are a recent corporate escapee. Maybe you joined the great resignation this year with a fledgling business that you’re now looking to grow to the next level, or you might even be an established business owner who wants to diversify your income streams and free up time and energy for all the other things, let’s face it, that are important in your life, things and people. So if one of those is you, if you are one of those, maybe one of these scenarios also sounds familiar. So perhaps, and this is very familiar unfortunately, for many of us, you aren’t growing as quickly as you’d like. Maybe your income goals feel impossible to reach and you know you’re not charging, you know you’re over-delivering again and again for your clients, but you feel like you have to say yes to projects and clients that aren’t a good fit.

You don’t see how you’ll ever be able to do the work that you love while earning the income you want. So how can you raise your prices? How can you get out of this kind of hamster wheel and how can you achieve those ambitious goals, which I’m sure you do have or certainly had when you first started. You’re probably, and again, this is also very familiar to us, unfortunately, overwhelmed because we’re doing all the things, caught up in that so-called hustle, unsure of what’s working, what’s not. So we just can’t slow down and focus on what will make the biggest difference. Maybe you’re confused or even turned off by some of the tactics you see other people doing or using or recommending, exhausted from trying them all and again, not seeing any real results from all these things that you’re trying to do.

And maybe, and this is really unfortunate if that’s the case, you’re losing sight of the bigger picture, getting lost in that daily to do list and almost forgetting why you decided to start the business in the first place. Maybe you’re resigned to having to do that hustle to work harder than ever, instead of having the freedom or flexibility you dreamed of when you started. If that is you, if any of these scenarios sound familiar, then I have something for you to help you achieve the success you dreamed of when you started. So it’s a version, if you will, of the Escape Plan. There’s a masterclass for those of you who are further along, who have potentially, as I said, quit your job already. You have the business in place and now you’re looking to achieve success on your own terms.

And so in order to build that life outside the 9 to 5, a business that actually supports your desired life and gives you that freedom, flexibility, and fulfilment you’re after, you need what I call the five pillars of building a life outside the 9 to 5.

And to recap that, hopefully you’re familiar with these, but if you’re new to the community and it’s always worth repeating, these are the five pillars. The first one is a clear personal definition of success that’s going to shape your strategy and guide your actions. The second is the confidence and resilience to deal with the inevitable ups and downs of working for yourself and being out of that nine to five structure. The third pillar is choosing the right business model that’s going to get you the results that you want and live the life that you want to lead and have the business you want to have. The fourth pillar is a strong personal brand that’s going to attract your ideal clients to you.

And finally, the fifth and final pillar is a flexible work-life integration which means that you have a business that actually fits around your other priorities that works for your life. Those are the five pillars of building a life outside the 9 to 5. I’d love to invite you to join me in a masterclass where we’ll be going through exactly those five pillars at a more advanced level. So specifically for you where you already have the business fundamentals in place, you know who you serve, you know who you’re working with, you have already had your clients, you’ve seen success, you may be getting clients via word of mouth, you’ve had some really big successes, perhaps you’re loving what you’re doing, but you’re losing a little bit of that focus perhaps again.

Or perhaps you have had great success in your business, but you’re feeling that, “Hang on a second. I want to pivot. I want to revisit some of the fundamentals, the foundational strategic elements to maybe tweak things going off in a different direction,” or make sure that you’re getting that so-called work-life balance or as I prefer to call it, work-life integration that you’re after. So you can register for the masterclass at onestepoutside.com/masterclass. Onestepoutside.com/masterclass. I will be running this live as you listen to this live, as it were in 2021. But it will also then become a recorded class. So the link should work always and forever, hopefully, or we’ll redirect it.

But whenever you’re listening, perhaps later on, you can still go on and listen to the recording. But if you are listening now in October 2021, I’d love for you to join us live of course. You can then ask your questions, get one-to-one feedback, have me as a sounding board and as we work through those five pillars again. So again, if you’re a service-based business owner, freelancer, online entrepreneur, however you identify yourself, whatever label, if you’re looking to build that sustainable long-term life outside the nine to five, building a profitable business or having that financial success on the one hand, that supporting the lifestyle that you’re after and the other without compromising your health and relationships to do so and that’s so important, then join us in this masterclass, building a life outside the nine to five.

We’ll be going through those five pillars, giving you real life examples, showing you what the symptoms to look out for might be if you don’t have these pillars in place, and of course, strategies and actions that you can take and immediately implement to help you to get to another level in your business, whatever that means to you. So again, join us at onestepoutside.com/masterclass. Looking forward to seeing you there, and I will also see you next week for next week’s episode. Thanks so much for listening. Bye for now.
