Year-end goal

Okay, so we’re beginning to come to the end of. Beginning to come to the end of the summer period here in the northern hemisphere. Hopefully you’ve done some reflecting, hopefully you’ve found some support in the questions I’ve been asking you. And hopefully, most of all, you’ve done a lot of resting and had lots of fun with your family and enjoyed some sun and whatever else it is you like to do in the holiday period. Now, you may have done a lot of fantasising if you have been asking yourself the questions I’ve been giving you, imagining what could be possible. And these imaginings might seem very far off, idealistic, long term. Right. And that can be motivating and inspiring in some sense, but it can also be so far off that actually, you know, it’s not realistic or what could I possibly do right now? So how can you motivate yourself in the short term and what might you do as an immediate first step? So I want to ask you two things today.

First of all, what’s the one thing that you can still do or start or finish that will make you most proud at the end of this year? Right? What’s the number one thing that you can start or finish or do? Complete? It’s the same thing as finish that will make you proud at the end of this year. And secondly, what’s one thing you can do? What’s one action you can take towards that goal? It is not too late to look back on this year and go, wow, I did that. Or what an incredible experience. Or, I’m so proud of myself for this, or, I’m so glad I made that shift. Right? And it could be that, you know, if you’re starting from zero, it could be getting to your first five K run, ten K run. You know, I’m a bit of a runner, so that’s where my mind always goes. Half marathon, marathon, etcetera. It could be in the business world, finishing your book or launching your programme or something like that.

But it’s not just those big goals. It’s not just the, hey, bucket list tick, big achievement, right? It’s not the end moment of success that we’re caring about, necessarily. It’s also the journey. It’s also investing in yourself and your health. So it could be starting a regular meditation practise, it could be marriage counselling to save your relationship, it could be investing in therapy for yourself as an individual, it could be joining a choir, it could be some new hobby or activity, right? So what’s something perhaps that’s been bubbling under through all these things we’ve been talking about the last few weeks, or just on your mind, on your list for a long time that would really make you feel like, yes, I did that. As much as I’m so much about now, being present and the little moments and enjoying what I have and who I’m with and so on, I found that the years when I haven’t really set myself a goal, being clear about what I wanted, I haven’t set those intentions. I don’t want to say I’ve been disappointed, but I have lacked a little that, like, excitement and pride to say, oh, my gosh, wow, I published a book that year, or I travelled to South America that year, or I had a baby that year, or I bought a house that year. Right? And there’ve been a couple of years I’ve just gone like, meh, someone asked me, what’s the proudest thing in your business? I kind of kept it ticking, which, you know, this is my.

My issue. I need to get better, as many of my clients do too, at celebrating and being happy with what we’ve done. But still, I wish for a bit more in really being intentional about what could you do now? How could you still make progress? It’s not too late to achieve something, to change something, shift something by the end of this arbitrary human calendar year that we’ve set ourselves. So by December, what would make the biggest difference for you? That’s the question. So what’s the one thing that will make you the most proud if you start it, finish it, make progress on it by the end of this year? And what’s the one step, what action that you can take towards that goal by the end of the year? Okay, see you next week.

Advertising and Analytics

Google

We use Google Analytics to track and optimise performance on this site as well as embedding video content from YouTube, and this means that your web browser automatically sends certain information to Google. This includes the URL of the page that you’re visiting and your IP address. Google may also set cookies on your browser or read cookies that are already there. Apps that use Google advertising services also share information with Google, such as the name of the app and a unique identifier for advertising.

Google uses the information shared by sites and apps to deliver our services, maintain and improve them, develop new services, measure the effectiveness of advertising, protect against fraud and abuse and personalise content and ads that you see on Google and on our partners’ sites and apps. See their Privacy Policy to learn more about how they process data for each of these purposes, and their Advertising page for more about Google ads, how your information is used in the context of advertising and how long Google stores this information.

Facebook

We use the conversion tracking and custom audiences via the Facebook pixel on our website. The data collected in this way is anonymous to us, i.e. we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook, who may link this information to your Facebook account and also use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Usage Policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

Who we share your data with

We use a number of third parties to provide us with services which are necessary to run our business or to assist us with running our business and who process your information for us on our behalf. These include a hosting and email provider (Siteground), mailing list provider (GetResponse), and a payment provider (Stripe).

Your information will be shared with these service providers only where necessary to enable us to run our business.

How long we maintain your data
